Horsehead and Flame Nebulae

The image below was processed using the SHO palette with PixInsight from data collected January 10, 12 and February 12, 13, 14 and 18, 2024. An Optolong L-eXtreme and an Askar D2 filter were used to isolate the Hydrogen-alpha, Sulphur-II and Oxygen-III wavelengths.

This image was collected as a color image, using only a light pollution filter (Optolong L-Pro). Imaged Jan 26 and Feb 11, 2023.

Horsehead and Flame Nebulae

The Horsehead Nebula, also know as Barnard 33, is located in the Orion constellation. It is approximately 1375 light-years from Earth.
